As part of our 'Investing in Community Leadership' programme, we're delighted to announce 'Diploma in Community Development Practice' now open for applications.
Working with NUI Galway, our partners Rural Community Network plans to bring the Pre-Graduate Diploma in Community Development Practice to the region. The 32-week Diploma course begins September 2021.
A practical course, preparing those taking part to explore the full compliment of issues facing the voluntary and community sector. Modules include Good Practice in Community Development, Understanding Group Work, Understanding Policy, Research, and elements of Peacebuilding.
Entry requirement is simply that those taking part are actively involved in community develop in their own areas, either as a volunteer or as a worker. 25 spaces are available.
This course is aimed at those who wish to improve their understanding in Community Development and may also support people who are looking to gain a formal qualification in Community Development for career progression in the sector.

The Diploma will be delivered by Rural Community Network and their partners in conjunction with NUI Galway. The Diploma is part of the National Lottery Communities fund programme 'Community Leadership in the West ', launched in January 2021 by Fermanagh Trust, Rural Community Network and Holywell Trust - offering training opportunities and qualifications to support the next generation of leaders.
