The closure of the BT building marked a bittersweet moment for Enniskillen, with the redundancy of over 300 employees, including many cherished members of our community whose contributions have enriched local life for years. Next door neighbour Fermanagh House has been privileged to work alongside the BT and EE teams, building a collaborative and supportive relationship that has greatly benefited our community. The departure of these valued team members signifies the end of an era, and their absence will be felt across Enniskillen.

In a remarkable final act of solidarity and generosity, members of the BT Sports and Social Club recently organised a grant presentation at Fermanagh House. Their significant donations to the Oisín McGrath Foundation (administered by Fermanagh Trust), Fermanagh Downs Syndrome Group, and Fermanagh Women’s Aid serve as a powerful testament to the commitment BT employees have shown to enhancing the lives of others. Their legacy of community-mindedness and compassion will resonate long after their departure.
Lauri McCusker, Director of Fermanagh Trust, expressed heartfelt appreciation for BT’s enduring contributions: “It’s truly inspiring to see the depth of generosity and dedication BT employees have displayed, even in a period of transition. Their support for local charities highlights a lasting legacy of compassion, integrity, and community spirit that has touched so many lives. We are profoundly grateful for the many years of partnership we’ve shared with BT at Fermanagh House, and we wish every one of their team members success and fulfilment in all their future endeavours.”
“On behalf of Fermanagh Trust, Fermanagh House, and the recipients of these grants, we extend our deepest thanks to the BT Sports and Social Club and all departing employees for their unwavering support, selflessness, and friendship. They have enriched our community in countless ways, and we wish them every success and happiness in this next chapter of their lives.”
