The Fermanagh Trust is delighted to be supporting our social enterprises by again sponsoring the ‘Social Enterprise of the Year Award’ as part of the Fermanagh Herald’s Business Awards.
Now in its third year, the Business Awards is Fermanagh’s leading forum for acknowledging and rewarding local business determination and success.
The judges are looking for a social enterprise which makes an outstanding contribution to their local community in terms of social, economic or environmental improvements. A social enterprise which makes a difference, which inspires, which motivates and whose work is both entrepreneurial and makes a fantastic contribution to the community. The winner will receive a £1000 grant from the Fermanagh Trust towards its work.
Frank McManus, Chairman of the Fermanagh Trust said “This is a fantastic opportunity for Fermanagh’s social enterprises to highlight their success so get those applications in. It is important we recognise those businesses with primarily social objectives and who reinvest for that purpose in the enterprise or in the community”.
The Awards have in the past two years promoted over 50 local businesses and rewarded them with newspaper coverage, grants, free consultancy, free in paper & online advertising and not forgetting the trophies handed out on the night.
Applications have now closed and entries will be shortlisted in the coming weeks.
Recipients are set to be announced at a prestigious gala dinner in the Killyhevlin Hotel on Friday 10th October 2014. Guest speaker for the evening will be Bill Cullen, formerly of TV3’s The Apprentice and prominent Irish businessman.
