Local ambulance service supported by ‘Help Our Health Heroes’ Fund

The local ambulance service have availed of the ‘Help Our Health Heroes Fund’. The team received TVs for their headquarters in Enniskillen as well as their deployment points in Lisnaskea and Irvinestown.

The Fund was established by the Impartial Reporter in partnership with The Fermanagh Trust at the beginning of the pandemic. Hundreds of people donated to the Fund with over £10,000 raised by the local community.

The ‘Help Our Health Heroes’ Fund is open to organisations and agencies who require support to improve the well-being of health and social care and home care personnel including volunteers. The fund is focussed on providing support that is needed for those workers throughout our healthcare system.

The Fund is aimed at advancing the protection and support of frontline workers and volunteers in the health care field in Fermanagh. This includes those working in hospital, residential settings and those providing community, home-based services to our elderly, ill and vulnerable, these include private and not for profit contracted services.

Potential areas of support include; funding towards the purchase of clothing and equipment and the provision of staff care services and any objective which appears to the Trustees of Fermanagh Trust to advance the protection of frontline workers and support them in their endeavours with equipment, technology etc. 

Lauri McCusker, Director of the Fermanagh Trust added “A huge thank you to all those who donated to the campaign. Undoubtedly, all the workers have been hugely boosted by the support they have been given by the entire community in these difficult times. We’re keen now to get the funds on the ground to even more frontline workers. If your organisation or agency requires support for Health and Social Care workers or volunteers do get in touch with us.” Malachy Love from Northern Ireland Ambulance service added “Thank you for your generous support, from all the staff at Enniskillen Station.”
