The Fermanagh Recreational Trust, administered by the Fermanagh Trust is open for applications. The trust supports the organisation, development and funding of recreational activities and facilities in Co. Fermanagh with particular emphasis on young people and youth development. Constituted sporting organisations or individuals based in Fermanagh can apply.
A few previous recipients include rower Holly Nixon, footballer Matthew Smyth and swimmer Ellie McCartney who all received help towards training, equipment costs etc which will help their future career. Recent organisations supported include Enniskillen Athletic Amateur Boxing Club, Derrygonnelly Harps, Erne Paddlers and Enniskillen Royal Boat Club. These organisations have received support from the Fermanagh Recreational Trust towards equipment, training, venue improvements, transport costs etc.

Potential areas of support include; provision of equipment, provision of courses, training and coaching, contribution towards training or training costs, contribution towards the development of facilities, bursaries to assist individuals develop their potential and activities / events which will benefit young people. An opportunity for individuals in helping to develop their careers. For local organisations this is a chance to utilise and enhance their provision including training new volunteers and encouraging increased levels of participation by young people.
Lauri McCusker Director of the Fermanagh Trust said “Sport plays such a vital role in developing our young people and bringing communities together. It is so important we support and nurture our home grown talent because with their determination they will be able to achieve even more and become great ambassadors for the county. We are proud to have supported numerous organisations and individuals over the years who have went on to have high profile successes. It is our hope to reach even more.
