The Fermanagh Recreational Trust continues to support the County’s sporting talent and is currently open for applications to support local individuals and sporting clubs. The fund supports the organisation, development and funding of sporting activities and facilities in Co. Fermanagh with particular emphasis on young people and youth development. Constituted Sporting Organisations or Individuals based in County Fermanagh can apply.
Recent grants recipients include Ellie McCartney whose swimming success involves an intense training schedule which the Fermanagh Recreational Trust is supporting. Ellie, as part of the Swim Ireland National Squad will be competing in a number of upcoming international competitions. This is working towards the aim of competing in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The Trust has also helped Enniskillen Royal Boat Club purchase new boats. The successful club has over 100 rowers aged between 12 – 18. The young rowers are highly dedicated, committed and hungry to succeed. The new boats will hugely improve the club’s ability to develop sporting skills.
James Cooper, trustee of the Fermanagh Recreational Trust said “The last few years have been incredibly challenging and difficult for sport and athletes and we are therefore determined to offer support wherever we can. Congratulations to those who have received grant awards so far and we wish all of them every success. Great sport is prominent in the County and we hope to reach even more individuals and clubs with grants towards the considerable costs of competing, equipment and training.”
Applications for the next round of funding from the Fermanagh Recreational Trust will close 28th February 2022. For more information or to download an application form CLICK HERE / E: gemma@fermanaghtrust.org / Tel: 028 66 320 210
